One Man Art Show
Feb 27 through March 5 2008, BDAS Gallery Bowral
The opening was attended by over a hundred people. With over 90 art objects on display, from etchings to drawings, prints and paintings. At least fifty or so people a day came through the gallery non-stop for a week. Friends and patrons came from as far away as Sydney, Nowra and Golburn for the opening, and featured cool live guitar music.
In a $5 raffle to benefit the Bowral Childrens Hospital, 43 tickets were sold, $215 was raised and donated to the foundation. The winner of the Magnolia painting was from Nowra, a lovely lady who was attending one of the art classes at BDAS. She was just delighted. Money was also raised for the Humour foundation through Dr Peter Spitzer, through a can donation. Many thanks to all, especially my framer Henri who knocked himself out getting it all framed in time.

In local press write ups, RW Cooke got press from High Life Magazine, and several articles in the Southern Highland Press. Also the oil painting below was just awarded as one of ten finalists in the (national) Australian Artist Magazine Landscape Competition as featured in the March 2008 Issue. the paitning is now on sale at the entry to Fitzroy Falls in the visitors centre.
